Adorable Finnish fashion and lifestyle brand Marimekko is brightening up Bangkok's monsoon season by wrapping an entire BTS sky train with its iconic Unikko poppy print, with which you train commuters can catch up until the end of October.
Unikko, the poppy print, is one of the brand's most recognizable designs created by Maija Isola in 1964, who came up with it as a challenge to the brand's founder Armi Ratia's ban of floral patterns back in 1964. According to our research, the Helsinki tram in Finland was the first public transport vehicle Marimekko wrapped back in 2015 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the print. The Finnish brand went on to wrap bigger vessels in later years, including a Finnair airplane in 2017.
The Unikko print wrapping Bangkok's BTS sky train comes in a blue hue, which is the brand's fall/winter 2020 color palette. So get ready to hop on the cutest trip around the city and capture some cool shots of the Unikko train now!
