It's confirmed: The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has called the shots for the reopening date of entertainment venues—including bars, pubs, and karaoke lounges—which was previously set for December 1, to be rescheduled for January 15, 2022.
The CCSA committee led by PM Prayuth Chan-o-cha, today (November 12), on pushing back the return of drinking holes and nightlife venues. They deemed the agreement appropriate for both the government and these businesses to prepare for the reopening, while they could also further supervise the pandemic and the national vaccine rollouts.
Meanwhile, the number of high-risk provinces is now down to six (from seven), consisting of Tak, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, and Songkla. Bangkok, in the meantime, is categorized in the blue zone for the tourism-reviving initiative together with three other provinces: Krabi, Phang-Nga, and Phuket.
The COVID-19 situation in Thailand is gradually receding, with approximately 7,000 positive cases detected on November 12, while about 44 million individuals having received the first dose and about 35 million completing two doses.
