Bangkok Music City returns this weekend, taking over a number of venues in the Charoen Krung area, as it has done in previous years. The event on March 1-2, co-organised by Live Nation Tero, Fungjai and Nylon Thailand, delivers an exciting line-up of local and international talent.

At the heart of proceedings is the main stage at the General Post Office, a historic building that’s sure to add a unique vibe to performances. But music lovers are being encouraged to explore multiple locations, with showcase spots scattered throughout Talat Noi and along Charoen Krung.

In fact, you could say the city is slowly turning into one big creative hub – and who doesn’t love a good hub? Bangkok Music City is just one of many current cultural happenings designed to broaden the exposure of various art forms. Events like this continue to push boundaries, as does Bangkok Design Week and the Bangkok Art Biennale, where collaboration between the public and private sectors has become the norm.

Bangkok Music City also includes a Music Conference and a Music Showcase, creating a space for people to delve deep into the sonic world – whether from an artistic or commercial perspective. For some, the attraction might be to find out where pop stars get their fancy outfits, for others it might be to learn how the music business operates behind closed doors.

This year’s headliners include some of Thailand’s top acts, with rapper Milli – who made history as the first Thai artist to perform at Coachella in 2022 – leading the charge. Slot Machine and Retrospect will also take to the stage, providing a mix of rock and pop that’s sure to keep the crowds buzzing. And it’s not just the big names – indie artists like KIKI, Common People Like You, ASIA7 and Faustus will also be rocking the show.

International acts add to the excitement, with talent arriving from across Asia. Expect performances from achi (Hong Kong), Jacqui (Korea) and PANORAMA PANAMA TOWN (Japan). Also not to be missed is high-octane Australian band The Grogans.

Bangkok Music City isn’t just about great tunes, though. It’s also a chance for industry professionals – from record label owners to festival organisers – to discover Thailand’s thriving music scene. The event could put Thai talent on the map in ways we’ve yet to see.

With 50 acts spread across five stages there is much to enjoy, and you can visit Bangkok Music City's website to see the full line-up and register on Thaiticket Major for tickets. Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes – you’ll be putting some yards in while venue-hopping between performances.
