Bangkok hotel buildings light up the night with love

During these hard times, people are taking part in expressing love and encouragement whenever they can. Bangkok hotels, which have been severely affected by the virus outbreak, forcing many of them to temporary close or cut jobs, are now turning their vacant rooms into lighting art exhibits to express love and positive spirits as well as an appreciation for hardworking medical professionals.

Greetings and Positive Wishes to the World🙏 At this time of global strife, we, with the kind support of our neighbours at Tesco Lotus, wished to make a positive gesture and send our good wishes out to the world. It might not mean much in the grand scheme of things, but we felt that the world could use all the extra positivity it could get right now. Therefore, we decided to turn on the lights of our hotel in the form of the Thai greeting of a “Wai”, where two palms are pressed together. The “Wai” is also a symbol of equality, and in respect to this we wanted to highlight that we are all in this together. These may be tough times, but if we persevere, we will be able to get through this together. To our colleagues in the hospitality industry, we stand in solidarity with you at this difficult time. Our job is to bring people together and create moments of joy. People will be very much in need of what we provide when this is all over and done.
