Today (May 25), Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) announced at a press conference it will launch a new vaccine appointment website entitled Thai Ruam Jai Krungthep Pload Pai [in Thai: ไทยร่วมใจ กรุงเทพปลอดภัย] in collaboration with tech giant IBM. The service will serve as a major COVID-19 vaccination reservation platform for Bangkokians aged between 18 and 50 years old with no severe chronic diseases. The registered individuals will get a jab at any of the 25 non-hospital venues across the city.

City Hall details that the website is designed for people, with or without a smartphone, to access easily via these three ways:

  • Those who already registered with any of the government's subsidy campaigns can access this new system via the Paotang [in Thai: เป๋าตัง] and receive a confirmation through an SMS.
  • Those who haven't registered with any of the government's subsidy campaigns can register via www.ไทยร่วมใจ.com and receive a confirmation through an SMS.
  • Those with no access to a smartphone can register at any convenience stores, including 7-Eleven, Family Mart, Tops Daily, and Mini Big C, from 08:30-18:00.

The Thai Ruam Jai Krungthep Pload Pai website will go live on May 27 at noon for the vaccine rollout that will start on June 7.

Many, however, might see this online service as a duplication of MorProm, the government's existing vaccine appointment app launched earlier, and could lead to confusion around which platform one should register for.

During the press conference, BMA execs stated that these two online services are not overlapping—but didn't elaborate on the details. It is asserted that Bangkokians aged 60 and above and those with severe chronic diseases will still need to carry out the reservation via MorProm in order to receive inoculation services from a hospital where they can receive more appropriate supervision before and after the vaccination.

What comes with the newly launched service is a call center via 1516 for the public to inquire further information.
