Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) announced that five types of venues, including parks, salons, and massage venues could return to business from today (June 14). The decision came after the pandemic situation in the city has gotten more positive thanks to the increasing number of vaccinated individuals while the government is able to better control the outbreak.
Five types of businesses and venues now permitted to reopen are as follows:
- Museums of all types, art spaces and galleries, learning centers.
- Tattoo and nail salons - everyone in the venue is required to wear a face mask, and any practice on a facial area is prohibited.
- Beauty clinics - will be open under strict measures and supervision by medical professionals.
- Spas and massage places - only foot massage is allowed.
- Public parks - will be opened only for walking and running while other kinds of activities are still prohibited.
Regarding other sorts of venues—namely entertainment venues, cinemas, indoor gyms and fitness centers, bathhouses, kid playgrounds, zoos, water parks, arcade, and boxing stadiums—the authorities extends the mandated closure until June 30.
