Roland Durand, Michelin-starred chef and recipient of the title “Master Chef of France”, takes the helm at Scarlett Wine Bar & Restaurant and churns out outstanding French-inspired creation with a strong touch of Asian accent until 8 March.
Chef Roland has been recognized as one of the most prestigious French chefs with experiences in fine-dining powerhouses like the two-starred Le Pre Catelan in Paris and Sofitel Paris, of which one of the restaurants received one Michelin star. The chef has also won a number of prestigious awards including Grand Prix Culinaire Internationale Auguste Escoffier and Meuilleur Ouvrier de France competition, where he received the title of “Master Chef of France”.
The master chef will be showcasing French creation injected with flavorful Asian spices in a five-course menu featuring the likes of snail ravioli in herbal broth; spinach soup with blood sausage in spicy coconut-based soup; tiger prawn and scallops injected with flavorful prawn bisque; and roasted New Zealand lamb rack with spicy kick from cumin and the colorful spätzlis pasta. The meal ends on a comforting note with the fabulous strawberry shortbread served with cardamom ice-cream.
