Starting last year, the folks behind the 50 Best Restaurants list decided to give out honorable mentions to 50 more venues.
Ahead of the complete list, which is set to be revealed next week on 29 March, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants has announced which dining establishments rank 51 to 100. Last year’s edition saw a total of nine restaurants in Thailand making the cut. This year, however, only four restaurants in the kingdom have been included in the second half of the list.
Quince and Chef Chudaree “Tam” Debhakam’s Baan Tepa retain their appearance on the list, with the first stepping up from No. 97 to No. 91 whereas the latter slipped from No. 79 to No. 86.
In the meantime, the 51 to 100 list sees the debut of Pru and Lerdtip (Wang Hin). It’s no surprise to see the one-Michelin-starred Pru from Phuket getting a relatively high ranking at No. 61, while celebrity chef Gigg Kamol’s mom-and-pop eatery Lerdtip on Wang Hin Road takes No. 87, marking the impressive appearance of a non-fine dining restaurant on the roster.
