Thai artist and illustrator Tachamapan Chanchamrassang or “Pomme Chan” is famous for her use of atypical shapes, lines, and colors. Pomme owns a design studio, has her wallpaper brand, and has designed furniture in the past, but this is the first time she has created an armchair in collaboration with one of Thailand’s largest furniture companies.

The Modernform x Pomme Chan Couple Chair Collection is inspired by mid-century aesthetics, and features soft, sinewy curves, fabric made from recycled PET bottles, and wooden legs inspired by beads and childhood puzzles. Each chair is meant to be placed next to each other to encourage conversations with friends, siblings, coworkers, or even strangers.

The armchair is priced at B18,900 apiece, and B32,000 a pair. See and try it for yourself at Drop by Dough at Emquartier.
