Time Out Bangkok roams the alleys of Charoenkrung to discover 3 new openings in the riverside neighborhood you need to try this week.
TaiGuan Cafe
Another month, another new Chinese-themed eatery. Located near the Chow Sue Kong Shrine, this gallery-turned-cafe soothes you with an airy space filled with pretty little decorative items and a long list of Chinese-inspired drinks and dessert items. (We're talking about stuff like chrysanthemum jelly (B47) and tofu sherbet (B57))
770 Charoen Krung Road, Talat Noi. 087 387 7770. Open Thu-Tue 10:00-20:00
The Hidden Milkbar
This milkshake bar is literally hidden on the third floor of the newly-opened film lab Foto Club. The diner-inspired space is bathed in red-and-pink hues, with the menu featuring a wide range of Instra-ready milkshakes and sweet goodies.
1119 Charoen Krung Road, Si Phraya. Open Wed-Fri 11:00-18:30, and Sat-Sun 10:00-20:00
Homu
A humble shophouse on Soi Charoen Krung 44 was turned into a homey dessert cafe decorated with lots of plants and wooden furniture. The highlights in the menu are homemade Wagashi (traditional Japanese-styled sweets) that's best to enjoy with a cup of tea.
32 Soi Charoen Krung 44. 08 9792 6496. Open daily 08:00-18:00
