Thailand has been hit by summer showers and cloudy skies the past few months, and we can’t help but feel a bit blue. But instead of letting the dreary weather dampen our spirits, we’ve decided to embrace all it offers with the help of some soulful jazz tunes—because we all know nothing soothes and smooths our rain-ruffled feathers better than some sax-inflected soundtracks. We’ve rounded up the best jazz venues in the city, so you’ll know where to go to embrace those rainy day blues.

Crimson Room isn’t just a bar – it’s a time machine to the Roaring Twenties. Tucked away in Velaa Sindhorn Village, it boasts green marble, velvet booths and a theatre stage for live jazz performed by some of the city’s best musicians, including bands such as the Crimson and the Bar Enders. What sets Crimson Room apart is its unique soundtrack of ELM (Electronic Live Music), a groundbreaking fusion of live instruments and DJ beats designed to fill the dance floor. The bar's recently revamped drinks list features 16 cocktails under the theme ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’, drawing inspiration from the 1920s with twists from the Americas, Asia and Europe thrown in. For an oriental touch, try the Tokyo Slippers (Roku gin, umeshu, matcha, genmaicha, yuzu, Japanese melon and cherry blossom, B460). Negroni lovers will adore the Gianduja negroni (Boatyard double gin, Campari, PX sherry, sangiovese, dark chocolate, lavender and hazelnut, B460).
