One of Iceland’s most celebrated acts is heading to the Thai capital for the very first time.
Led by frontman Jón Þór "Jónsi" Birgisson, who’s known for his falsetto voice, Sigur Rós debuted in the Icelandic music scene back in 1994 and has since built up international acclaim with tracks that beautifully combine classical music, dream pop and ambient sounds.
Their second studio LP, Ágætis byrjun (A Good Beginning), which came out in 1999, is regarded as the commercial and critical breakthrough that shot them to global stardom. The album includes well-known hits like “Viðrar vel til loftárása”.
Sigur Rós is now touring worldwide to perform their greatest hits from all their seven albums, including their latest release Kveikur (2013).
The band will perform in Bangkok on 28 August at Moonstar Studio. Tickets are priced at B2,800 and will be on sale from May 28 via Ticketmelon.
