The city’s most colorful and extravagant parade will once liven up Bangkok’s streets on the first Sunday of June.
Hosted by non-profit org Naruemit Pride and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, this year’s pride parade will feature new highlights under the theme “Beyond Gender”. The parade, which is the highlight of Pride Month in Bangkok and a kick-off to many events, will start at 14:00 at BACC on the Pathumwan intersection and will move on to Rama 1 Road towards the Pride Stage at centralwOrld where it will end with parties and activities. You can watch the parade from both sides of the road, or at a stage in front of Siam Center.
The parade will comprise six smaller sections, each one focusing on a different theme. These are:
- Community: Promoting gender diversity, including intersex trans and non-binary, through pop music
- Purpose: Focusing on sex worker rights, sex consent, and body positivity
- Relationships: Campaigning for marriage equality
- Environment: Creating awareness for sustainability
- Health: Calling for equal rights to heal and gender-affirming care with T-pop music
- Security: Towards social security for all
Rama 1 Road will be partially blocked from Pathumwan to Ratchaprasong intersections between 2pm to 8pm. Everyone is welcome to come for free.
An afterparty at Lido will start at 9pm.
