After being known as one of the very few five-star establishments near the infamous Patpong nightlife hub, Le Méridien Bangkok has readied itself for the new era in 2022 with the expansive makeover for the very first time.
First opened back in December 2008, The 24-floor Le Meridien on Surawong is home to 282 rooms of several types ranging from a compact deluxe to a spacious presidential suite, the latter comes with a rounded bed as its renowned—kinky, we say—feature. The high-rise accommodation is complete with hotel-standard facilities including restaurants, bars, spa, and an outdoor pool overlooking the Surawong road.
After the revamp, “art” will become Le Méridien’s new core identity and there will be new branded restaurants and bars in the pipeline. Rolling Ribs, for one, is the new smokehouse eatery opened back on December 10 to purvey barbecue-style fare and a variety of international craft beers for guests to enjoy in an AC-equipped outdoor area.
To incorporate the art and culture-based sentiment into the new era, Le Méridien has re-stylized all rooms with decorations inspired by Thai classic literature and art. Poems by legendary poet Sunthorn Phu, for instance, are inscribed on the walls alongside Khon models and the map of Surawong decked inside the room to promote Thai sensibilities.
