American rock band OK Go is widely known for two things: cutting-edge music and, more importantly, over-the-top music videos shot in one take. The four-member group has now returned after a year-long absence with a new single "Obsession" with a music video that blows our mind. Created by Tokyo-based creative studio SIX and directed by the band's lead singer Damian Kulash, Jr. and Japanese director Yusuke Tanaka, the video features 567 desktop printers printing out tons of paper supplied by Thai paper manufacturer Double A to tirelessly creating "paper mapping" magic. Don't worry, all the used paper will be recycled and the proceed will be given to Greenpeace.
Time Out loves: 3 best music videos of OK Go
(1) "Here It Goes Again" | This single from their second album Oh No is probably OK Go's most recognizable video with the band dances simultaneously on eight treadmills. The video was picked by Times magazine as Top 30 best music video of all time.
(2) "I Won't Let You Down" | Using more than 2,300 dancers, this music video opts for the concept of bird's eye view shot. The Japanese electropop group Perfume also made an appearance in the video.
(3) "The One Moment" | Also from the fourth album Hungry Ghosts, this one-shot video plays with inflated balloons filled with liquid color splashing all over white walls. This music video uses slow motion to synchronize with the beat of the music.
