The second floor of French bistro Brasserie Cordonnier takes its footwear-centric theme to a whole new level.
While the restaurant downstairs boasts the vintage charm of an authentic French bistro, Sole Rouge screams upscale and swanky within a space that also functions as a shoe showroom. This second-floor bar features a floor-to-ceiling shelf displaying more than 350 glitzy footwear by local shoe maker Lyn, as well as suede drapery and comfy furniture. Singers, musicians and deejays perform on a regular basis on rotation (see their Facebook page to check out the schedule of performances).
Italian mixologist Davide Sambo has created a special drinks menu that is inspired by high-end fashion labels. The funky and eclectic Jimmy Choo is translated into a rum-based drink with spicy banana liqueur and coconut water, while the sophisticated Chanel is a martini with a flower-infused gin base and chrysanthemum dry vermouth. The very French Louis Vuitton deservedly has cognac as a base and is blended with raspberry vinegar and chocolate.
With its creative concoctions and accessible location, this cocktail den is perfect for a pregame or a post-dinner drink before hitting a dance club nearby.
