Chatuchak is more of a place to shop and eat rather than to drink. But Plot Twist, a new cocktail bar on the sixth floor of the new Best Western Chatuchak hotel, is trying to change that. Thanks to its location, the bar is blessed with unblocked views of Bangkok’s new railway hub, Krungthep Aphiwat, and is only a few steps away from the world-famous Chatuchak Market (or JJ to locals).
But the views ain’t the only cool thing about this place. Head bartender Monthon Tangchum, who spent the last four years at Lennon’s, is introducing drinks made of fine liquor and infused liquids, and made using eye-popping techniques. You can get a drink inspired by the weekend market (gin mixed with coconut water and a hint of citrus) as well as by train journeys to the north (gin fused with Chiang Rai tea) and the south (gin fused with Chumphon coffee and rose apple). Drinks aren’t cheap; thankfully, they don’t taste it, either. There are live bands on the weekends and happy hour is on the way.
