Set on the 40th floor of the swanky hotel, this newly opened bar is cheery and colourful, yet maintains an air of class, thanks to the tasteful design of renowned architectural design firm Hassell. The space is an Instagrammers’ paradise as every corner is carefully designed for a photo-op. Bright-hued banquettes inject a fun, youthful vibe, while lush plants and pretty frond mural evoke the feeling of being in a tropical backyard. Prime spot would be the al fresco terrace, which offers breathtaking views of the Sathorn skyline and beyond.
The menu reflects a reinvigorated classic barbeque with a good variety of signature and seasonal farm-to-plate dishes, served to share. Aromatic, perfectly-charred meats deserve praise, such as the Slow-cooked Chipotle Beef Briskets (B360), a sweet, spicy and smoky offering that’s dry-rubbed with chipotle before cooking. Another must-try for meat lovers is the Oven-dried Wagyu Butchers Steak Skewers (B320), which is served with crispy shallots, coriander seeds and chilli sauce.
For lovers of Tex-Mex fare, there’s the Seared Fish Taco (B270), a moreish dish that boasts battered fresh snapper with a dollop of piquant tomato salsa. Big groups can go for The Greatest Hit Platter (B720), which comes with fried calamari, dark beer-smoked barbecued pork ribs, chicken wings, nachos and quesadillas; and finish off with the gigantic Sweet Spot Picnic Platter (B450) with sugar-loaded goodies like apple pie, ice-cream sandwich and seasonal fruits.
The drinks list highlights refreshing tiki-style cocktails. Classic rum-based tiki cocktail Navy Grog (B310) is quirkily served with an ice cone, while The Queen’s Group Pineapple (B320) is a tequila-based showstopper with a hint of pineapple and pomelo. Mocktail versions are also available
The affordable prices at Bar.Yard disprove the notion that a rooftop dining experience at a swanky hotel would empty out your pockets. Instead of worrying about the bill, you can relax, chill and enjoy the night with friends, family or your loved one.
