Established in 1920, Peiing is one of the longest-standing Chinese-language schools in
Bangkok, with a list of alumni that includes some of the wealthiest Thai-Chinese businessmen in the country. One part of the school is dedicated to the sacred Lao Pun Thao Kong Shrine, where people come to pray to a 200-year-old statue of Lao Pun Thao Kong, a god that symbolizes prosperity.
