Libraries in Bangkok are stepping up their game, proving they’re not just about dusty old tomes and waspish librarians. Today they offer the use of computers and free Wi-Fi, making them ideal for remote workers, and you can find facilities for board-game playing, film screenings and even spots dedicated to kids. At heart though, libraries remain bastions of quiet study and contemplation – ‘day spas for the brain’ if you like – and a regular visit not only improves your intellect but also your mood. Don’t believe us? Try a little ‘me time’ at one of the following and be enlightened!
