Sinking and the Paradox of Staying Afloat
The environment needs us and we need the environment. Despite commendable climate action, environmental degradation continues and demands adaptation. The exhibition 'Sinking and the Paradox of Staying Afloat' explores this survival instinct and the contradictions we face - caring for nature while causing harm. The title reflects both the suffocation of our deteriorating environment and the struggle to adapt and survive. Focusing on Southeast Asia, the exhibition highlights the impact of climate change on vital waterways such as the Mekong River, which is crucial for biodiversity and cultural heritage. Unstable water patterns threaten agriculture and increase flooding in cities such as Bangkok. The artists address these issues, creating diverse works that emphasise individual responsibility and the need for sustainable practices through community participation. Until Nov 3. Free.
