Over ten early autumn nights, Canberra turns into a nocturnal playground, with light projections on buildings and many of the city’s biggest attractions opening their doors at night to host events and experiences. This family-friendly festival includes free and ticketed events such as installations, roving performances, dining experiences and live music. Iconic national attractions like the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, National Library of Australia and Questacon become canvases for stunningly colourful light projections. The buildings and Enlighten precinct activities are all an easily walkable distance from each other.
Past highlights have included a jazz session in the National Portrait Gallery’s underground carpark, a silent disco inside the National Library of Australia and a rooftop dinner on Old Parliament House as well as the popular Enlighten Night Noodle Markets.
