Canberra’s arts and culture scene comes to the rescue every winter with an exciting line-up of world-class exhibitions and events. To celebrate its latest winter wonders, we’ve teamed up with the East Hotel to give away a culture-packed getaway in the capital. The lucky winner will score a two-night stay in a luxe studio at Canberra’s trendy East Hotel, including a bottle of local wine, complimentary parking and 12pm checkout. Plus, they’ll win two tickets to the National Gallery of Australia’s latest exhibition, Gauguin’s World: Tōna Iho, Tōna Ao, and two tickets to Discovering Ancient Egypt at the National Museum of Australia

What you're in for?

Anyone who still bangs on about Canberra being boring clearly hasn’t checked into the East Hotel. Located smack bang in the centre of arguably Canberra’s trendiest suburb, Kingston, this moody 140-room property is perfect for a two-night getaway. Their luxe studios are spectacularly spacious, decorated with jewel-tone couches, velvet cushions, plush carpets and cheery art. In the studio, you’ll find enough closet space to satisfy a RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant, as well as an open plan living and dining area, fully equipped kitchenette, separate bedroom, wide balcony and large bathroom with an oversized Jacuzzi bathtub.

After checking in, head downstairs to Joe’s, the East Hotel’s cosy Italian bar, for a cocktail or two. When you're ready for a bite, pop next door to Agostinis, where you'll find some of the best pasta and pizza in Canberra (and believe us – it has some stiff competition).

The following day, leave your puffer jacket at the door and step into the warm embrace of the National Gallery of Australia’s latest blockbuster exhibition, Gauguin’s World: Tōna Iho, Tōna Ao. Running until October 7, this multidisciplinary exhibition traces French artist Paul Gauguin’s life from his impressionist beginnings to his Polynesian visions.

You can then fuel up at one of Canberra’s best cafés, before heading to the National Museum of Australia to see its limited-time Discovering Ancient Egypt exhibition. On show until September 8, visitors will discover rare and remarkable objects from the land of the pyramids, including ten coffins and Book of the Dead scrolls.

Make sure you enter to win this culture-packed getaway in Canberra before Sunday, July 21! You can find the full competition T&Cs here.
