Hiking holidays are having their moment right now. While some people could think of nothing worse than bashing through the bush or stomping through the outback for hours on end, others are planning entire holidays around a single hike.

Luckily, you don’t have to venture far to get your blood pumping, because Australia is full of incredible walks – so much so, that even if you tackled a new trail every day for the rest of your life, you’d still barely scratch the surface. If you’re keen to jump on the hiking holiday trend, AllTrails has just revealed the top five trending trails in Australia for 2025 – and we’ve never been so inspired to hit the track.

Despite only opening in March 2024, the breathtaking 19-kilometre Grand Cliff Top Walk in NSW’s Blue Mountains saw the biggest increase in popularity across Australia over the past year. This next level two-day walk winds its way along a spectacular cliff-edge track from Wentworth Falls to Gordon Falls to Katoomba, offering elevated views of the Three Sisters and Jamison Valley along the way. With spectacular waterfalls, lush native flora, and the chance to stay in a dreamy historic village, it’s the perfect introduction to multi-day hiking.

Overall, Melbourne is Australia’s hiking hotspot for 2025, claiming three of the top five trending trails. Coming in at number two is the gorgeous 11.6-kilometre Sherbrooke Forest Circuit in the Dandenong Ranges National Park. Surrounded by lush ferns and towering trees, it offers a chance to experience the cool rainforest climate and spot the occasional kookaburra – all without breaking too much of a sweat.

Another pleasant circuit trail on the outskirts of Melbourne, the Plenty Gorge Loop via Blue Lake ranked as the third trendiest trail in Australia for 2025. Meanwhile, the family-friendly Mount Lofty Loop in Melbourne’s Warrandyte State Park ranked fifth. This 4.8-kilometre circuit, boasting stunning views of the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges, was also named Australia’s third most popular trail in 2024 – so you can trust it’s a winner.

With incredible views of one of Queensland’s most dramatic waterfalls, the four-kilometre Purling Brook Falls circuit rounds off the list of Australia’s trendiest hikes for 2025.

Here are the top 5 trending trails in Australia for 2025:
