All good things must come to an end, including the Paris 2024 Olympics. Last night (or early this morning for us Down Under), we bid farewell to the world’s largest sporting event, with a spectacular Closing Ceremony at the Stade de France.
As predicted, Australia delivered its greatest performance at an overseas Olympic Games, ending fourth on the overall medal tally with 53 medals. This haul comes second only to the 58 medals we won at the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
Our impressive Paris medal tally includes an Aussie record-breaking 18 golds, alongside 19 silvers and 16 bronzes. A truly ripper effort for our green and gold!
