Thrift shopping is having a real moment in Australia right now. Last year, international second-hand superstore Savers opened its first-ever New South Wales op shop, followed by a huge, first-of-its-kind-for-Australia ‘Savers Thrift Boutique’ in Sydney. Bargain hunters went wild, with queues snaking out the door hoping to pick up some pre-loved treasures at rock-bottom prices.

Now, it’s South Australia’s turn. Today (February 20), Savers unveiled its latest store in Adelaide, packed with 100,000 second-hand goodies. With most items priced under $10, you can score good-as-new clothing, accessories, homewares and more for less than the price of a banh mi these days.

Spread across 2,580 square metres in the brand-new Richmond Lifestyle Centre, Savers Marleston is the brand’s fourth-largest thrift store in Australia. Although this marks Savers’ first opening in South Australia in more than a decade, the second-hand superstore has been operating Down Under for 25 years, with its 14 existing stores responsible for diverting 7.5 million kilograms of textile waste from landfill each year. The new Adelaide op shop brings that tally to 15, kicking off a wave of new Savers store openings planned across the country for 2025.

Adelaide’s newest Savers store is now open at 254 Richmond Road, Marleston. Feeling thrifty? You can hunt down your closest Savers location in SA, NSW or VIC here.
