Australia’s biggest and best musos will descend on the Emerald City for the 38th ARIA Awards – the largest music awards ceremony in the country. A huge host of homegrown musicians and artists are in the running to win awards in 29 categories, including Album of the Year and Best Solo Artist. What are the ARIA Awards?

Often called Australia’s version of the Grammys, the ARIA Awards stand out as the biggest music awards across the country. Now in their 38th year, these awards celebrate the achievements of homegrown artists across 29 categories and genres, from pop and rock to classical and jazz. Some of the biggest awards of the night are for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Solo Artist, Best Group and Best Australian Live Act.

What does ARIA stand for?

ARIA stands for the Australian Recording Industry Association – the organisation that runs the awards and is also responsible for the official music charts in Australia, like the ARIA Singles and Albums Charts.

When are the ARIA Awards 2024?

Winners will be crowned at the 2024 ARIA Awards on Wednesday, November 20. The glitzy red carpet will kick off at 1pm AEDT, with the awards ceremony starting at 5pm. 

Where are the ARIA Awards held?

The ARIA Awards will return to The Horden Pavilion in Sydney, which is where the inaugural ceremony was held way back in 1987.

What channel is the ARIA Awards on?

You can watch the biggest names in the music biz strutting their stuff down the red carpet, with live streaming on the @ARIA.official YouTube channel from 1.30pm AEDT. The ARIA Awards ceremony will be broadcast live on Stan from 5pm, with the full show available on demand after the official live stream wraps up. 

Who’s nominated in the 2024 ARIA Awards?

Sydney’s indie rock duo Royel Otis have picked up the most ARIA nominations in 2024, scoring eight noms for their acclaimed album Pratts & Pain. These include Album of The Year, Best Group, Best Independent Release, Best Australian Live Act and Song of the Year. 

Aussie house music producer Dom Dolla follows with six nominations, while 18-time winner Kylie Minogue and Melbourne-born singer-songwriter Angie McMahon each received five nominations. Other big names like 3%, Amy Shark, Rüfus du Sol, The Kid Laroi, Tones And I, and Troye Sivan each landed four ARIA nominations in 2024. You can check out the full list of nominees here.

Who is performing at the 2024 Aria Awards?

Who won ARIA Awards in 2023?

Troye Sivan was crowned as the Best Artist in 2023, also taking home the award for Song of the Year with his addictive hit ‘Rush’. Meanwhile, the DMA’s were named Best Group and Genesis Owusu won Album of the Year for his 2023 release Struggler.

Who has won the most ARIA Awards?

John Farnham and Silverchair lead the pack, having won 21 ARIA Awards each. Kylie Minogue, Powderfinger and The Wiggles are close behind, each boasting 18 wins.
