Texas Independence Day at the Driskill

Happy Texas Independence Day, y'all. It seems only appropriate that the oldest hotel in the state's capital is hosting a party and, boy, they are not messing around. The festivities start with Texas-shaped pecan waffles in the 1886 Cafe followed by events throughout the day, including an Allens Boots pop-up, Texas whiskey tastings, a Texas beer happy hour, live music (with Texas artists, natch) and trivia with nonprofit political news outlet The Texas Tribune.
