There are plenty of swoon-worthy ways to celebrate love in Austin, from the best romantic restaurants to clinking glasses at Austin's dreamiest wine bars. But if you're ready to commit to someone special, do it in the most Austin way possible—on a hike outdoors or in front of iconic art. There are so many locations throughout our city that serve as the best places to propose; here are the top 10 most romantic and Instagrammable spots to surprise your love. Just don’t forget to have a friend ready and waiting nearby to document this très romantique moment.

Mount Bonnell
This isn't the most original spot to propose, but the beautiful view—and the resulting photos—is undeniable.

“I Love You So Much” mural
This simple, universal message on a north-facing wall at Jo's Coffee resonates with everyone. As a bonus, a gaggle of tourists will applaud when your honey replies, “Yes.”

Boardwalk of Lady Bird Lake
The new-ish boardwalk which runs to the East and West of I-35 is a gorgeous way to admire the natural beauty of Austin’s water and greenery as well as the glittering skyline.

“You’re My Butter Half” mural
Proclaim your love to a foodie in front of this quirky east side artwork (which is significantly less busy than our first mural pick.)

Mayfield Park
There are peacocks roaming around. Need we say more?

“Till Death Do Us Part” mural
Go moody with this mural by Federico Archuleta at 7th and Waller or in front of the larger, more colorful version on the side of Congress Avenue’s Mexic-Arte Museum.

Under the big tree at Springdale Farm
Have a romantic dinner at Eden East (reopening on January 17), then get down on one knee underneath the ancient Elm tree illuminated with twinkling lights. Springdale Farm serves as the location of plenty of weddings, so you know that love is always in the air here.

“Love is the Question, Love is the Answer” mural
In 2014, the iconic musician-artist Daniel Johnston (responsible for the “Hi, How Are You?” mural) debuted this wall. Now cross your fingers that your boo's answer is “yes.”

HOPE Outdoor Gallery
While it’s days on Baylor Street  are numbered, Hope Outdoor Gallery is a perfect backdrop for a proposal. The image your photographer sneakily snaps will immortalize your day in Austin’s most recognizable location before it’s move and expansion to Carson Creek Ranch.

“Will You Marry Me?” mural
The mural found at Oltorf and Lamar asks this crucial question for you, with three answer options: “Yes”, “No” and “Hasta La Vista Baby!” Let’s pray your sweetie says “yes” and doesn’t terminate your relationship.
