Selena McCartney, a native Texan, opened the Art of Shoes after making a name for herself as the store manager at Steve Madden in San Antonio more than 15 years ago, when her spot-on trend reports informed the styles made in the company’s factory. This discerning eye led to an assistant designer position at the Steve Madden headquarters in New York City, where she worked for five years before designing and consulting for Frye, Calvin Klein and Rachel Zoe. Inside the shop, you'll find both vintage and new merchandise, including classics like Chanel ballet flats, Rachel Comey sandals and Reebok high-tops that McCartney has collected through her travels.
