This little trailer in South Austin combines Texas’ most loved cuisines into one brilliant and delicious concept: a barbecue/taco truck mashup. The folk at Valentina’s smoke their meat low and slow over mesquite and hand-make their own thick, powdery flour tortillas. Barbecue master Aaron Franklin is very open about his love for their smoked brisket tacos (smoked brisket, sea salt, lime, guacamole, tomato serrano salsa). Other menu standouts include the pulled pork sandwich (tangy coleslaw, mesquite smoked bbq sauce) and the smoked carnitas tacos (carmelized onion, cilantro, tomatillo habanero salsa).
