Not only does Mexico have its own wide variation of regional cuisines, but our southern neighbor has inspired multiple spin-offs here in the states, like Cali-Mex, Tex-Mex and New Mexican. And now, ATX-Mex has its own designation, thanks to the recently opened Grizzelda’s, which serves a blend of Tex-Mex, interior Mexican and coastal Veracruz-style cuisine, all given a creative Austin touch thanks to chef Albert Gonzalez. The decadent deshebrada tacos do not disappoint, starting with rich shredded short rib, topped with a zingy cilantro-caper mojo, ribbons of crema and crispy shallots and served with handmade corn tortillas to make your own masterpiece.
