You may have seen Springdale Train Station in the works while grabbing a beer at Friends & Allies or climbing at the Austin Bouldering Project. Now the old train station is finally re-opening after extensive renovations, and they're celebrating with a party. Stop by from 4 to 7pm for free bites from Sawyer & Co., Royal Fig, the Peached Tortilla and more, along with free drinks from Drinkslingers and Dulce Vida Tequila. There will be a photo booth, petting zoo, tarot readings and a DJ.

South Austin Museum of Popular Culture is showing their first exhibition of the year with SouthPop Presents: 40 Years of Esther's Follies. Learn about the history of 6th Street's storied comedy club, from their early days as a comedy act at Liberty Lunch to today's antics. Posters and photos from Esther's 40-year history are also on display.

There are still heroes among us: Captain Scott Kelly, for instance, who will speak at the Paramount Theatre tonight at 8pm. The astronaut relays lessons learned from his year spent in space on a record-breaking voyage. His book, Endurance, was recently optioned by Sony Pictures to become a movie.
