Forget the Grammys. The annual Austin Music Awards celebrates local musicians during a talent-filled evening tonight, with winners voted on by Austin Chronicle readers and special performances including Lucinda Williams, Adam Torres, the Black Angels and Third Root. Held at ACL Live at the Moody Theater, the show still has tickets available—get them here.

Looking for a new restaurant downtown? North Italia officially opens today, bringing their comfort Italian food to the 2nd Street District. Choose from starters and salads, pasta-heavy entrées (we recommend the burrata tortelloni), pizzas and more; you'd be wise to end on the caramel budino for dessert. Wine, beer and cocktails are also available, and lunch begins at 11am!

Embrace your love of fromage at Antonelli's Cheese 101: The Seven Styles of Cheese (Benefiting B.I.G. Love Cancer Care). Tickets to the class include a guided tour through varieties of cheese, as well as olives, nuts, Easy Tiger bread, chutneys and charcuterie. You can even bring your own beer or wine for a $4 set-up fee. Cheese, bread, wine—that's a pretty solid way to celebrate hump day.
