There's a new coffee shop in town to get your morning java fix (and satisfy your afternoon beer cravings): Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden, which opened yesterday in South Austin and is now in full swing. Stop by and welcome Cosmic to the neighborhood, snagging some coffee and pastries for the office.

Need to stretch your legs during your lunch break? The Contemporary Austin waives its entrance fee on Tuesdays, and today is no different. Stop by the Jones Center downtown to see John Bock's Dead + Juicy before it closes on January 14. Or head to Laguna Gloria to walk around its permanent and temporary collections (like Carol Bove's Flying V).

Home Slice is usually closed on Tuesdays, but they're opening later tonight to hold Story Department, a monthly adults-only storytelling hour that benefits the Austin Bat Cave project. This iteration plays with the theme "Out with the Old, In with the New." Kris Kovach hosts the event, and entry includes a drink ticket.
