It's Fat Tuesday! Celebrate with parties, beads and all the king cake (here's where you can still find a slice or two) at restaurants and bars around the city. Fingers crossed for the golden baby. (And if you're looking for something a little more family friendly, check out the Cherrywood Mardi Gras parade at 5:30pm.)

Will Johnson and Justin Peter Kinkel-Schuster of The Water Liars team up under Marie/Lepanto, a moniker inspired by a road sign along I-55 in Arkansas about halfway between Kinkel-Schuster's home in the state and Johnson's in Missouri. Fingerpicking, folk and indie rock are guaranteed at their Waterloo Records performance at 5pm tonight.

The theme for this month's Story Department—a Moth-inspired storytelling event—is "Love is in the Air" (very Valentine's Day-appropriate). Get in the mood for love as you listen to your fellow Austinites revisit romantic memories at 8pm. Ticket sales benefit the Austin Bat Cave's writing programs.
