First up: If you haven't already checked out Austin's brand new food hall, Fareground, for breakfast, you're going to want to make that a priority for lunch. Or dinner. Or both? The space, designed by Michael Hsu, is stunning, and the six vendors (Easy Tiger! Contigo! Henbit!) are serving excellent kolaches, tacos, ramen, salads, sandwiches—you name it. The food hall is open until 10pm (as is the Fareground Bar), so get at it.
Your happy hour plans today are of the adorable neighborhood bake shop variety. What better way to welcome newcomer Confituras Little Kitchen to the Austin food scene than with a happy hour toast? There will be gin and fruit syrup cocktails, beer and a selection of fruit-forward hors d'oeuvres. The event starts at 5:30pm, and all donations benefit Slow Food Austin.
Take advantage of Blanton's Third Thursdays, when entry to the museum is free and hours are extended until 9pm. Enjoy artist and composer talks, plus $5 wine and pizza combos—perfect for keeping you warm (and hiding out!) on this chilly night.
