It's opening day for the Round Rock Express, the Rangers' farm team! The 19th season gets its start with a ceremonial first pitch care of Texas football legend Earl Campbell, and the game will close with a fireworks show. Purchase your tickets for the 7:05pm game here

Channel your inner bard at the Austin International Poetry Festival, a four-day lyrical gathering dedicated to all things poetry. Author readings and book signings, open mics and workshops are all part of the annual fest, which also includes a youth program for aspiring poets. The first events start today at noon at Huston Tillotson University.

Can't make it to tonight's Live Fire! event? No worries—you can still eat your heart out at Whisler's, where they're having a crawfish boil starting at 6pm. For $10 a plate, you'll score plenty of the tasty critters, plus there's Live Oak Brewing hef and Montucky Cold Snack beer for $3. Get at it.
