We're back in the thick of things as the first full week of SXSW kicks off, and there's plenty to do both within and outside of the festival. First, a trip to BookPeople. Maybe you caught Elaine Welteroth evaluating dresses on the Oscars red carpet, but now you can see the former Teen Vogue editor in person as she talks with artist Cleo Wade about Wade's new book, Heart Talk: Poetic Wisdom for a Better Life. If you want a signed copy of the collection of poetry, mantras, affirmations and more, Wade's sticking around afterward—just make sure you get a ticket to join the signing line.

Check out the Roseanne pop-up, which is open to the public (no badge required!). The ’90s cult classic is getting a reboot this year when it airs on March 27 on ABC, and to celebrate, scenes from the set will be up through 6pm today at Volcom Garden. Fuel up at the Lanford Lunch Box, where they're serving cold cut sandwiches, pie and coffee (be sure to pick up a collectible koozie), then hang out in Roseanne's living room and post an animated GIF from her couch (gotta get that ’gram in). There's also trivia and plenty of swag.

Want to get away from it all? Try one of a handful of new restaurants that popped up in the midst of this SXSW madness. Guild opened a few days ago, bringing seafood-focused fare (and a stunning dining room) to North Lamar, while Mandala Kitchen & Bar just opened up at Lamar Union (you'll find Vietnamese and Thai specialties here). And if you're looking for a few other places to dine in peace, we've got you covered with this comprehensive list.
