It's the weekend—and a three-day one at that! You've worked hard to get to this point, so you deserve to play hard, too. We've curated our favorite events happening around Austin for the next few days, from pop-ups to festivals to grand openings—all you have to do is round up your crew. Have a great weekend, y'all!
Fri 25
Hot Luck
Now back for a second year, Hot Luck Festival has become one of the best events of the summer, a food and music festival from the most creative minds behind both arenas: Aaron Franklin (Franklin BBQ), James Moody (Mohawk) and Mike Thelin (Feast Portland). Over the weekend, the city will be filled with indulgent food events and music performances across the city. Get a reimagined glimpse into the American food court with Night Court, where world-class chefs invent their own mall bites. Attend Al Fuego, a flame-fueled celebration of open-air cooking. Head to a vintage car shop for an epic Sunday brunch. And see some insane musical talent—DJ Questlove, Blackillac, Okkervil River, Peanut Butter Wolf and more—at different venues around Austin. Through Sunday at various times
Run, Lola, Run 20th Anniversary
This thrilling movie by German director Tom Tykwer is turning 20, and to celebrate, AFS Cinema is showing it in 35mm and starting the party early with an electronic music set courtesy of DJ Troller. Get there at 8:30pm if you wanna dance along. Friday at 10pm
Sat 26
Spokesman First Anniversary Party
Happy birthday, Spokesman! The South Austin coffee shop has survived its first year and is planning some special releases, limited-edition merch and more to celebrate. We'll sip to that. Sat at 8am
Woodland Faerie Trail Opening
As if the Zilker Botanical Garden wasn’t already magical, now you can spot faerie houses made from local seeds, tree bark, twigs and more among the succulents, plants and flowers. The trail lasts through August 10. Sat at 9am
Sun 27
Dazed and Confused Party
May 27 was the last day of school at Lee High School, and it's also the date of this Dazed and Confused party at the Marriott's rooftop pool bar. The fun starts with a DJ playing 1970s-themed tracks, throwback cocktails and snacks and a trivia game to test your film cred. At 8pm, settle in for a screening of the movie that’s celebrating its 25th anniversary this month. That calls for an obligatory alright, alright, alright. Sun at 4pm
Free Shakespeare in Zilker Park
Head to Zilker’s Hillside Theater for the Merry Wives of Windsor. It's like Shakespeare with a twist—think 1950s sitcoms, or the Bard with a touch of Lucille Ball. Just don’t forget to bring a blanket or folding chair. Sun at 8pm
