It's the weekend! You've worked hard to get to this point, so you deserve to play hard, too. We've curated our favorite events happening around Austin for the next few days, from pop-ups to festivals to grand openings—all you have to do is round up your crew. Have a great weekend, y'all!
Fri 11
Finding Euphoria
Austin's largest electronic music festival may have abruptly switched locations from Carson Creek Ranch to a handful of downtown venues, but the fest is still taking over the city this weekend—and yes, tickets are still available. Fri & Sat at various times
Doc Days
Swing by AFS Cinema for the first ever Doc Days, a long weekend of new non-fiction films like Minding the Gap and The Gospel According to André. The festival also features visiting filmmakers, moderated Q&As, parties and even free drinks, so you can raise a glass to the city’s documentary scene (and your good fortune). Until Sunday at various times
Primus and Mastodon
Experimental rock bands Primus and Mastodon are teaming up as co-headliners on a tour that supports Primus’s ninth studio album, The Desaturating Seven. All Them Witches opens. Fri at 7pm
Sat 12
WEST
Austin’s biggest art crawl is back this spring as galleries, studios and private homes across West Austin open to the public for two weekends of pure art appreciation. Pick up a map of the self-guided tour at any library—if you can't make it this weekend, the crawl will be back next weekend. Sat & Sun at 11am
Taco Libre
Spend an afternoon wolfing down tacos at this festival celebrating the best traditional and contemporary variations. Each taqueria will offer a $2 option, and wrestlers and bands will provide the entertainment. Sat at 3pm
Paramount Gala
This storied theater's annual fundraising event has a Spanish-inspired themed and a big-name act: The Gipsy Kings will keep the crowd dancing in between the food, drinks and merriment. Sat at 6pm
Sun 13
BrunchCon
More than 30 vendors, open Bloody Mary bars, mimosa pong (think beer pong with OJ and champagne)—is there a better way to spend a Sunday? Tickets are sold out but you can make it happen—because nothing comes between an Austinite and their brunch. Sun at 9am
Mother's Day brunch
And speaking of brunch—it's Mother's Day, and if you're not making Mom a decadent feast at home, you should take her out to one of our favorite Mother's Day brunch picks. Many of them are offering free mimosas for the celebrated lady—though you should really just buy her as many as she wants. Sun at various times
