It's the weekend! You've worked hard to get to this point, so you deserve to play hard, too. We've curated our favorite events happening around Austin for the next few days, from pop-ups to festivals to grand openings—all you have to do is round up your crew. Have a great weekend, y'all!

Fri 5

Free Week
The week-long music "festival" is wrapping up on Sunday, and the next three days have plenty of shows in store for anyone wanting to catch some live music. Check out Los Coast at the Mohawk tonight, Annabelle Chairlegs at Hotel Vegas tomorrow, Tomar & The FCs with Honey Made at Stubb's on Sunday, and plenty more. Fri-Sun at various times

Sat 6

Grand opening of The Loop Running Supply Co.
What do you get when two running addicts and retail vets open a shop? A store with top-notch running apparel, a locker program and showers for a quick rinse after a downtown jog. On Saturday, the Loop is hosting its grand opening fête, starting with a group run at 5:45am followed by a festive party (shopping! drinks! tours!) from 9am to 7pm. An after-hours mixer will take place from 7pm to 10pm, featuring 9 Banded Whiskey, Tito's, Hops and Grain and Dulce Vida. Sat at 5:45am

David Bowie Birthday Bash
Let's dance, as the man himself said. Put on something glamorous and get ready to party (or come with a bare face for a Ziggy Stardust-era face painting) at Drinks Lounge ($5 suggested donation). Sat at 9pm

The Neighborhood Sketch Comedy Show
This sketch comedy show—hosted and curated by faculty, staff and students at The New Movement—makes audiences laugh every first and second Saturday of the month. Sometimes the theater will give out free alcohol but, otherwise, it's BYOB. Sat at 9pm

Sun 7

Shen Yun 2018
Catch the final performance of Shen Yun, a performance featuring classical Chinese dance, attire, folklore and traditions. Sun at 1pm and 6pm
