Chinese New Year at Wu Chow
Wu Chow is celebrating the Year of the Dog with dinner specials on Friday and Saturday, dim sum specials on Sunday, and a full-blown party on Monday. Frontera Fest
It's the final weekend of Frontera Fest—if you haven't made it to Hyde Park Theatre's massive fringe festival, now's the time to do it. The fest brings artists, actors, musicians, poets and other performers to our fair city for a month of art off the beaten path; this weekend, catch five shows that have made it into "Best of Fest." Breakfast Bash for No Kid Hungry
Only 62 percent of children who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch are getting school breakfast. This fundraiser led by Bryce Gilmore of Odd Duck and Barley Swine and Amanda Rockman of South Congress Hotel features more than 30 of the city's top chefs and bartenders. Sat at 1pm
Dog of the Year of the Dog
Is your animal an alpha, or at least top dog at Yard Bar? Enter the bar's contest by posting a photo of your pop on their Facebook page. The top 10 finalists will compete live on Saturday to take home the honors. Sat at 2pm
Roller Derby Season Opener
The Hotrod Honeys take on the Hell Marys in this bout kicking off a new Texas Rollergirls season. Don't miss these fierce women skating for the finish line—and bragging rights. Sat at 6pm

"Austin" grand opening
Ellsworth Kelly's final work—and his first building—opens at the Blanton Museum of Art this weekend with free admission to the abstract artist's stunning "Austin." There will be special guests, music, curator talks and guided tours, plus taco plates for $5. Sun at 12:30pm
