Today, Amazon Books opened its first brick and mortar at Domain NORTHSIDE, with its 21st-century bookstore that melds the best of both worlds: offering customers a curated selection of books that are Amazon.com bestsellers and customer favorites, having received a rating of four stars or higher. How meta is that?
This particular location is Texas' first and just the 14th in the country, and is expected to draw in book and tech lovers alike. Visitors can browse curated sections like Page Turners, which call out books that Kindle users report reading in three days or less, while a device section lets you test out Amazon gadgets like the Alexa personal assistant or the Echo.
Another unique feature? Every book at Amazon Books is faced outwards with it's full cover showing, instead of just its binder. Consider it a digital Amazon page come to life, complete with a review card featuring customer ratings and reviews. Books are also chosen based on pre-orders, sales, and popularity on Goodreads.
The new Amazon Books is located at 11700 Rock Rose in the Domain NORTHSIDE, and operates under the following hours: Mon-Sat 10am-8pm, Sun Noon-6pm.
