Happy ACL lineup day! If you've won any bets, congrats—spend that hard earned dough on an ACL ticket, which just went on sale. If you haven't yet heard the news, here it is: Paul McCartney, Metallica, Childish Gambino, Arctic Monkeys, Travis Scott and Odesza are headlining ACL 2018. If ever there was a festival with something for everyone, this would be it.
As usual, the lineup holds some shoe-ins: The National and Arctic Monkeys are both playing Lollapalooza this year, so it was fitting they'd make an ACL appearance. St. Vincent has been playing quite a bit in Austin recently, and it's great to see her come back for the fest. Local bands like Shakey Graves, Sweet Spirit and Sailor Poon also made the lineup. But Paul McCartney and Metallica were both pretty big surprises—this is their first time playing ACL, and you can bet they're going to draw their own huge—and diverse—audiences. A few artists who are only playing one weekend include Shawn Mendes (weekend two), Marian Hill (weekend two), Deftones (weekend one) and others.
