Well, more like 151.

According to the Austin Business Journal, a recent U.S. Census Bureau reports that more than 151 people were added to the Austin metro population each day in 2017, and more than 55,269 people throughout the entire year. While these numbers include births, roughly 70% of that total were new residents moving to the area. So, yeah, we're still pretty popular.

While 151 people might seem like plenty, the numbers are actually down from 2016, which saw a daily growth of 159 people. Still, this year we came in at #9 on the Census' list of fastest growing metro areas (St. George, Utah, came in first—who knew?), and #1 overall when you consider Austin metro's growth in the past seven years.

You can take a look at a more detailed breakdown here.
