Arrested Development is bringing its stair car—and a Never Nude meetup—to Austin

Austin may be weird but it can always get weirder. Like, for example, when the Bluth stair car rolls up to the Texas Capitol this coming Saturday. Yeah, that's happening.

It's all part of a nationwide tour to promote the fifth season of Arrested Development that will premiere on Netflix on May 29. In it, the dysfunctional Bluth family has involved themselves in politics—Lindsay Bluth Fünke is running for office, and the entire family (well, except for Michael, he could care less) is campaigning for Family of the Year. Technically there's no real campaign—they're straight up giving themselves an award—but if it keeps Lucille busy, who are we to complain?

The stair car will be showing up in Austin on Saturday, May 12, at three locations: the Texas State Capitol from 9am to noon, South Congress Ave & Elizabeth St from 1 to 4pm, and the parking lot at 501 E Brazos St from 5 to 8pm. It's already made its way through New York City and Washington D.C., and while none of the actors have actually made an appearance (it's more of a photo op than anything else, as well as the chance to score some free, special-edition Arrested Development gear), there's always hope.

There will also be a Never Nude meetup on Saturday for those who are attached to the security of jean jorts in lieu of their birthday suit; anyone interested needs to sign up for the Bluthletter to get details.

Find out more details about the entire tour here. And if you can't make it, just remember that Austin has its very own frozen banana stand that you can visit: Bananarchy.
