Valentine's Day might be on the horizon, but we still have to get through Mardi Gras—and all the king cake that goes with it. A few places around the city have sold out of the classic purple, green and gold dessert that acts as a cross between coffee cake and a donut, but there are still some restaurants and bars that are serving king cake through tomorrow. Go forth:

Lavaca Street Bar: Head to the downtown watering hole for a Fat Tuesday party, where they'll be offering Abita draft specials, king cake, crawfish ettouffee from Turf 'n Surf, hurricane Jello shots and a Mardi Gras mask contest starting at 3pm.

Holy Roller: The brunch destination is putting king cake on the menu this Tuesday. Look out for the signature skull.

Sweetish Hill Bakery: Two types of king cakes are offered at the Clarksville bakery: New Orleans style (brioche ring) or French style (puff pastry filled with almond paste). Call ahead to reserve one if you're looking for a bigger cake; otherwise, stop in early in the morning to score a couple slices.

Walton's Fancy & Staple: You can opt for an 8-inch or 12-inch king cake at this popular cafe—just be sure to call ahead (512-542-3380).

drink.well: Marry a king cake with a Twinkie and you have drink well's celebratory dessert, a king cake Twinkie available throughout Fat Tuesday. Bite into one with a golden baby and you'll get a $20 gift card to the North Loop staple.

June's All Day: Stop by the South Congress wine bar and cafe for king cake donuts, served all day on Tuesday. The buttermilk and nutmeg donuts are slathered with purple, yellow and green icing. There are only 50 available, and one will contain a gold baby—a $200 gift card to the restaurant.

SnoozeKing cake, pancake—is there really that much of a difference? Snooze is merging the two with a king cake pancake, available all day on Tuesday. Find a jack at the bottom of your plate and you'll win swag, including bag, shirts and gift cards.

Cypress Grill: The Louisiana eatery is throwing a Mardi Gras party on Fat Tuesday, with drink specials, crawfish, Zydeco music and slices of king cake. Plenty of beads are guaranteed.

Sawyer & Co.: Celebrate Mardi Gras from 11am to 9pm at Sawyer & Co. with an all-day happy hour, gumbo and jambalya, seafood platters and slices of king cake.
