The best things to eat this weekend at ACL 2017

ACL 2017 is this weekend, and if you’re a Type A planner, you’ve pretty much got everything figured out. The big acts you’re going to fight the crowds for. The smaller acts you can’t wait to check out. Enough sunscreen to make mom proud. But between sets and sunscreen applications and trips to the water fountain, you’re going to need some sustenance. Cue Austin’s best food trucks stepping up to keep us well-fed in the ACL Eats Food Court (this year, there's a second location near the south end of the park). Here are some of our favorite trucks and dishes at ACL 2017:

Burro Grilled Cheese Kitchen: Try the Waylon & Willie, a savory sourdough sandwich featuring monterey jack cheese, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, pepperoncini peppers and spicy maple bacon sauce.

Mighty Cone: This truck's Hot and Crunchy Chicken Cone was created for ACL in 2002, and it's still a fest favorite: a flour tortilla that holds fresh mango-jalapeno coleslaw, hot and crunchy chicken and avocado, and ancho aioli for an extra kick.

East Side King: Looking for a healthy option? Try East Side's Brussels Sprout Salad, made with Brussels sprouts fried to a perfect crisp, sweet and spicy sauce, cabbage, basil, cilantro, mint, onion and jalapeno.

Woodshed Smokehouse: The Kick Ass Nachos here are bomb—crispy tortilla chips, queso, lettuce, amazing avocado salsa, jalapenos, pico and smoked cheddar.

Skull & Cakebones: For a sweeter snack, the Belgian Waffles with dark chocolate will satisfy your sweet tooth. Think: a fluffy Belgian waffle topped with dark chocolate ganache and powdered sugar—all vegan!
