It's the (holiday) weekend! You've worked hard to get to this point, so you deserve to play hard, too. We've curated our favorite events happening around Austin for the next few days, from pop-ups to festivals to grand openings—all you have to do is round up your crew. Have a great weekend, y'all!

In addition to the following events, there are also a ton of Hurricane Harvey relief fundraisers happening around town this weekend. Here are a handful that you should definitely attend.

Fri 1

Out of Bounds Comedy Festival
Seven days. 130 shows. 10 venues. Over 500 comedians. Out of Bounds is one hell of a comedy fest, and with a lineup that includes improv (Broke Gravy, Blood & Thunder, Manacle), sketch (Someone Has To, Over the Ledge, Asian Gracefully) and stand-up (Vanessa Gonzalez, Nathan Ehrmann, Trixx), there are plenty of comedic styles to fit your sense of humor. Various venues. Through Monday, times vary

World Beard & Moustache Championships
Think your beard is above average? Put your money where the scruff surrounding your mouth is and enter this contest for competitive facial hair enthusiasts. Or buy a spectator ticket and check out the live entertainment, local food vendors and other activities on offer this weekend. Friday at 11am to Sunday at 6pm

Sat 2

Labor Day Weekend Community Party at Lenoir
Lick Honest Ice Creams, Dublin soda and snacks like pies from J.T. Youngbloods will all be on sale at this benefit for Becker Elementary School's organic and educational nonprofit gardening program. The Guy Forsyth Band and Chris Bell, and parents of students who attend Becker, will all take the stage to perform. And don't forget to bring non-perishable, healthy snacks to be entered into a raffle—think fig bars, granola bars and rice snacks. Saturday at 2pm

Art of the Brew
Art, craft beer, music and food intersect at this celebration featuring several local breweries, like Independence Brewing, Jester King, St. Elmo and Celis Brewery. Now's your chance to discover new favorite flagship beers and try one-off special collaborations. Saturday at 4pm

Freddie For a Day
Freddie Mercury died in 1991 due to complications from AIDS, and the ABGB is celebrating his legacy and raising money for Aids Services of Austin at this fête that includes a lip sync battle and Queen cover band, Magnifico. There's a $10 suggested donation at the door and a $15 suggested donation for a T-shirt. Saturday at 7pm

Sun 3

Deep Eddy Vodka Watermelon Contest
Can you eat more watermelon than all your friends? You might want to enter one of three contests at the Craftsman-based celebration of summer's favorite fruit. If you're not the competitive-type, try one of three watermelon cocktails, including the Pool Side with Deep Eddy Vodka, lemon juice and elderflower foam. Sunday at noon
